Special Education Support

The PTA sponsors recognition programs for special education students and, in addition to the LHMS staff, offers assistance to their parents. If you have any suggestions or questions, please contact Mary Nell Clark, the PTA Special Education Representative.

The FCCPTA Special Education Committee provides a wealth of information for Special Education parents and students. Please take time to browse their web site.

The FCPS Parent Resource Center supports parent participation in the education of students with special needs. Confidential meetings, training opportunities, comprehensive resources including a lending library, and a year-long calendar of workshops are offered for parents, educators, and community members. Future Quest is a free college and career forum for students with disabilities, parents, educators, and community members interested in learning more about the transition from school to the real world, including the college application process, financial aid, strategies for success, career planning, and career opportunities. Join the keynote speakers who will share their amazing stories and experiences as students and young adults with disabilities. Participants will learn what they need to know and need to do now to start transition planning.
